The higher frequency you can hear, the more you'll be annoyed by hissing and noise when you're enjoying music, movies, whatever.

 

Too bad for whoever can hear more than 16k...

i did that and got the same as i did in yt which is about 15750

Or because the test consist of a very compressed track close to the upper limit of the dynamic range being able to determine the noise flaw is a guess at best.

 

I also am rather skeptical of many of these online tests, there is nothing to prove the samples are genuine enough to prove a perceivable difference.

Many people here probably listen to compressed tracks. You can take Neil Young's own track for a stroke of irony.

 

Yep, because that track isn't compressed just the same. ...  Think  I'll stick to professional hearing tests rather than stuff of the net.

Probably not the same, no. Your local hearing test professor does 16bit vs 8bit? No matter, you can build your own test with your own files if you'd like.

No he doesn't, but he does do the full spectrum and levels for each ear.  no one needs to do 16 v 8 bit, they just to watch the videos in the faq.
