The gold one is more likely to be a better quality unit but this is not always true. Go for that unless you think you'll be needing the extra power.

Unless you're running some server mill (you wouldn't be asking this anyway, so you're probably not) or under load 24/7, the efficiency difference is negligible.

I would go for efficiency. Better quality (most of the case).

While this will be true most of the time, I would consider a 750W Bronze PSU to be a better choice than a 650W Gold PSU. As long as they're both 80+ rated, we know that they're both going to be made with sufficient quality..

The reason that I would choose the 750W PSU is because a 650W PSU could be very constraining in terms of future upgrades (SLI/etc).. Theoretically, a 650W PSU should be able to support GTX 970 two-way SLI, a 750W PSU should be have more headroom.. If Slick's overclocked 980 drew a similar amount of power as a 780TI. we can speculate that two OC'd 980s would probably be unable to run on a 650W PSU, while they should be able to run on a 750W PSU.

Edit: And in terms of power efficiency as it concerns the electric bill, the difference between a 750W Bronze and a 650W Gold would be negligible..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

You don't need anywhere near 750W for a single 970. Even Nvidia recommends a 500W PSU minimum, which is still more than necessary. Remember, 145W TDP.

I would suggest the Seasonic G 450W, Rosewill Capstone-450-M, Corsair RM450.

I wouldn't recommend the EVGA NEX B or G units, in case you were thinking of an NEX650G. Not very good FSP-made units, although fairly cheap.

If you're going to upgrade and need around 600W, then a Cooler Master V650S or Seasonic G 650W would be good.

Are you going to add another GPU in SLI/Crossfire?

Switching to a 4770k firstly isn't really worth it for gaming and secondly won't add to the power usage. Adding an SSD will do nothing. Case fans, LEDs, etc don't consume much. Those upgrades don't change that you won't need 650W.
