Looking at upgrading from a Iphone 4s to an android phone. Have been looking into the LG G3, HTC One M8 and the HTC Desire 816 but still can't decide.

I mostly just watch movies and listen to music over the speaker and occasionally play games but not often.

Any recommendations?

M8 has got great speakers and pretty good power for games. I love it. Especially once you root and unlock it.

Note 4? It has a better processor then the G3. a good-ish speaker, big display... vibirate display for movie watching (over saturation shouldn't make too much of a difference) and it's just good looking in general.

Personally I like the Samsung Galaxy S5.

The camera is fantastic, Waterproof, and a bunch of other cool things.

I personally don't like aluminum on anything, its just not a good material to use in phones imo.

Or the Note 4

i have no idea what rooting is or unlocking. i saw a guide for it so i will head there and learn.

Unlocking it makes it so you can change the ROM(Basically it's OS) and rooting gives you access to admin features kinda like jailbreaking. It gives your phone full functionality.

It's all good, 16mp is impressive for a phone camera and sure beats the 8MP of the iphone4s :D

It also voids the warranty (not that that's the end of the world)

not a big fan of the button layout of the new Xperia phones.

it's the same as my xperia z (original one) and i love it, thumb is exactly on the power button and you can just roll the middle of your thumb over the volume button

(and that dedicated power button  )

Oh yeah, @Meetchell I probably should've pointed that out sorry. From what I've heard though if it's a physical defect the warranty is fine, but software defects you can't use the warranty.

Xperia Z3's screen is bad colour wise :( Z2 was so much better. But everything else is nuts on Z3.

It depends. I had a chat with HTC who said they would be able to know even if you s-offed, disabled tampered, disabled relock etc., and as such wouldn't cover hardwear defects, but I've also heard what you said. So basically, YMMV.

I see how its extremely ergonomic for use but i feel i would constantly hit it the way i hold phones. I used to have a low end Xepria something which although terrible was an ok phone.

i don't have that problem, but everyone is diffrent, you should just go to the store and hold it in your hands to see if it fits your hands
