My computer cannot access internet due to admin blocking me due to my illegal action. At first I thought they use MAC address to block me, so I decided to buy some more NIC and try to access the internet. The problem is, other NICs are blocked too. How come they know that the new NIC is still me and blocking me? Do they store any cache file in my computer? (since I use Wireshark to check the data flow and found out some cache flush thingy).

I have some knowledge regarding to networking but not much. Please help.  :(

You were blocked for a reason. Getting around it is just asking to be punished further.

Yes, of course, blocked because torrenting which I am unaware at first. And now I have no reason to argue with my network admin. Luckily there won't be any punishment, denied internet access is my punishment already. Reason behind I use torrent is quite sensitive here as my country's "Special Laws" are unlikely favor by your country. Sorry about that.

What kind of network are you running on? By network admin do you mean your ISP or actually a guy that controls the network you're hooked up to (as in sharing a single connection)?

My accommodation management controls it but I am sure they don't have any detailed knowledge on networking. They hire other IT pro to control and manage their network. My management calls them when they notice any strange things on the network. Regarding remote management, I have no idea.

Is this from work or home? If it is work then there will not be a "work around", from the sound of what you have described, they are blocking your terminal and not the NIC from the network and that can only be changed in the administrator's panel as he basically provides internet to be access by your terminal from his terminal. He can be using the PC's name as the unique identifier. If this is from home then your ISP is doing this for what ever rule you broke and there is no way around that either once you do not want to be punished further.

I suggest manning up and go an talk to the administrator and see if they will allow you to get back on the internet and this time obey the rules.

Boy do i love the Caribbean, rules are things we just don't have regarding the internet i mean. All we have is bill paid then internet on, bill not paid then internet off.

It is not quite consider as "Home" as you mentioned. I am a student, living in a hostel but totally unrelated to my university. Talking about rules or bills or whatever, not just me, we all didn't get what we suppose to get when we paid so much of money. Those management never really think and care about us when problems come. So there is not point talking or arguing with them since this "unfairness" is quite common in my country. Surviving is the more crucial than living. Honestly, I use torrent for pirated software. Illegal? Not really in my country. We are allowed to use in our home or for studies actually. It is shame to talk about it but it's the truth. So back to my topic, finding a way to access internet at my own is way way better than talking to admin.  :)

Well i would consider this as a work scenario because the hostel you are staying at is not your own and thus you should obey the rules there if you want to use the facilities. There is no way around that unless you talk to the admin and by talk i mean you just let them know you are sorry and you won't do it again and can you please turn on the internet for your room. I think it would be best to do this as you will surly need to do some research late at night for your studies.

About the pirated software being shameful, ha, this is the internet. I use pirated software too but i also pay for some like my Internet Security.
