I know this, I was pointing it out to the guy who seemed to think vacuuming it would be fine. :P

Yes, but it does not specify this. Someone who is relatively new to this could try using a normal vacuum

very true. they would learn the hard way then if they went nuts with their Electrolux

what is an Electrolux?

lol, its a really old brand of vacuum cleaner that would be perfect for frying circuits.

Once again, sucking air doesn't produce any more static buildup than blowing air.

"A vacuum isn't directional. Thus you have to have the end very close to what you're cleaning--if you have a static charge on it you might end up too close and a spark would jump." - quote from one of the links

This is the downside to using a vacuum to clean a computer. However with blowing the dust off has just as many downsides, debris is a common one when using an outtake on a shop-vac or on of those expensive electric air dusters. one the other hand, compressed air, from an air can or a compressor, can cause condensation. Not to mention when blowing, dust can get into nooks in your pc and will stay there.

vacuuming and blowing. have downsides, but a vacuum will help keep dust from getting into other parts of your case. The best way would be to use a bit of both.

AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!

I like to simple disassemble everything when I clean. Makes it a lot safer.

ya, but if you have a custom loop, its a lot harder

Oh, that is correct. Never had a custom loop. But at least there would be less dust buildup in a custom loop as opposed to a aircooling system
