No its on a disk

Quote people if you want them to know about your posts. Does your build have DVD drive? If not, you need to make ISO out of disk and "burn" .iso image to USB stick. Then set USB to be first boot device from BIOS and go for it. For completely new build you don't have to worry about erasing important files. If you have SSD and HDD, you can unplug HDD during install to be safe.

When we try and boot right now, we can't see the bios, only an error message from asrock saying to reboot and select proper boot media.

We tried opening the bios while using a different hard disk.  Is that bad?

You don't even need any drives to connected for entering BIOS. Your POST screen will show key which you press to enter. Usually its DEL or F2. Trying to boot into wrong hard drive usually results as blue screen or boot loop.

I'm guessing that your boot order is messed, thats why you get that message. It has HDD set as first but since there's no OS, it isn't valid.

How do I fix this?  When I try to fit delete on boot, I automatically switches to the screen I described above.

Google tells me that right key is F2. Can't verify, my Asrock board is too far away .)
