So I have a 780ti, and with the new release of the 980 I was wondering if it would even be worth using step up in your opinion. All I would pay for is shipping which is around $80 because it has to cross borders.

My big worry is when gmes start needing the 4GB of Vram, would the 980 be worth it in that case?

Up to you. They preform about the same so it is up to the features you want.

nah... if you can overclock the 780ti to like 1150 MHz or more, the 980 wont perform as well anyways.

It'll only cost the cost of shipping, as the 980 is less than the 780 Ti.

It's a 10% performance increase with promises of new technologies and DX12, for about £15.

I'd go for it

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - CPU Cooler: Deepcool Castle 240EX - Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC

RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RBG 3200MHz - GPU: MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO

Nope not even close to 15 euros, it will be closer to 100 euros due to border crossing from canada to US and vice versa.

So the 4GB of Vram wouldn't ever be useful at 1080p?

3GB is barely useful at 1080p. 2GB is fine. Keep your 780Ti. The 980 isn't worth it for someone with a 780Ti.

Well my Vram is capped %100 of the time in Skyrim and Metro Redux, but those are the only games which I have looked at so....

Metro Redux much?  It needs at least 3gb for Maxed 1080p.  Textures will only improve, so I'd go for teh 980 is I was the OP

Played it. My 2 GB 660s maxed at 1080p SMAA 1x only used 1.6-1.7GB of VRAM. All higher SMAA levels just bogged that cards down. Didn't use any more VRAM compared to SMAA off or at 1x.
