Wireless network adapter card suggestions

Hi everyone!

 

I was hoping to get some suggestions on wireless network adapter cards for my gaming rig.  Here's the situation: I built my first gaming rig last year. The mobo I selected didn't have onboard wireless and that was fine for a while, until I realized I had to walk my ethernet cable over to the router everytime I wanted to play on the rig, then unplug it when I shut down the rig at night--kind of a pain!

 

My rig's specs are: AMD FX cpu, ASRock 970 Extreme4 mobo, 8 GB of G-Skill Ares RAM, a 550 W PSU and an MSI Radeon HD 7770 graphics card. I know, kind of a budget build, but I selected parts that would allow me to keep growing and improving my rig as I go.

 

Okay, back to the original question. Any suggestions on a solid wireless network adapter card? I've got Google Fiber internet, so I need something that can effortlessly handle 1Gb speeds.

 

I've been looking at this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G1R21073, but networking is not my forte and I don't want to make a mistake.

That's a mini PCIe card on an adapter. There aren't dedicated cards like Asus makes

Doesn't matter, it's an Intel card.

Sadly, you'll probably never receive close to gigabit speeds over wireless (due to alot of things, but mainly our technology isn't there yet).

 

What access point/router do you have at home?
