what mic does linus use?

They use some kind of wear on microphone with a clip, does anybody know what is the model?

No idea...

All I know is that it is an $800 lapel mic with a wireless transmitter.

I believe it's a $1000 Sennheiser one but not sure of the exact model. 

My personal rig - 4790k 4.8Ghz, Asus Z97 Pro (wi-fi ac), Corsair Dominator Plat 4x8GB, SLI GTX 1080 TI FE, Samsung 850 Evo 1TB, Crucial MX100 512GB, EVGA G3 1000W, and cooled by a hardline liquid cooling loop.

I don't get LTT. They have a $1000 mic and the audio gets compressed by Youtube. They spend so much money on a good filming system and then they push out WAN show in 720p.

I don't get LTT. They have a $1000 mic and the audio gets compressed by Youtube. They spend so much money on a good filming system and then they push out WAN show in 720p.

 

They also make professional Videos for companies.

I believe the 720p is because their Internet can't handle 1080p

IIRC Linus said in a past WAN show that they can do 1080p now. I recall him specifically stating in the show that he has no reason why he can't do 1080p. Yet he doesn't, I remember thinking to myself.

Actually they do have 1080p now. The last youtube archive is 1080p. I assume it's 1080p in twitch too. You just have to select source quality in twitch.

Just checked, they enabled 1080p starting September.

I'm assuming they just never bothered to set it up for 1080p streams because they didn't touch the set-up at all fearing something would go wrong haha.

Well, there are no bottlenecks in audio, as a certain freak likes to point out, so when you think about it it makes sense.
