The rule of thumb is 1GB Per 1080P Monitor there are better brands than XFX however I've not had a single issue with my R9 280X

If you can I'd get the R9 290X Just for the extra horsepower if you can spare the money for it.

you could try a Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 Windforce 3X 4GB

I've had mine for a few days now, and its nice! It comes with 0 cables or accessories tho, so keep that in mind. only molex->6pin/8pin. Like my old card had a hdmi cable and a display port->hdmi come with it,, lucky for me, since i then already have that stuff around!

Hard Drive: WD Blue 1 TB Hard Drive

I dont understand why ppl still gets a 1TB on their new systems. I got a 1TB for my C: (system) but thats cause I cant afford a SSD. I think its not smart to get 1TB as storage, I mean just look at the prices. Get a 2TB or 3TB for almost the same price and way less money per TB.

These are local prices. You can see that a 3TB costs the same as 2 1TB disks. so like get one of those! =P

Excellent setup, but get a smaller PSU and an I5, cheers ;)

Why an i5? Is it better?

If you are talking about the XFX double dissipation GPU then sure, if it is a reference GPU then no. Add an 256GB SSD if you could.

Other than that i can't give any real choices because you didn't say where you shop.

Enjoy your rig.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

Why did you post this again?

Anyways... Try to get a diference R9 290, if you can the new Vapor-X is nice looking, quite and a beast of a card

I dont know much about that monitor, it is IPS though, for gaming try to get the RL2455HM, I think its cheaper ;)

If you are only gaming get an i5, it is cheaper, but still is good enough even for rendering and stuffz

Get a different PSU like a XFX 650W XXX or the Core Edition

Get better speakers, like the Z623 from Logitech :D

Hey there, if you will be using the rig primarily for gaming then you could get the Intel Core i5-4690K.

The i7-4790K is more suitable in case you will be doing some graphics/video editing, rendering, etc.

As for the hard drive,  you could take a look at the WD Black HDD which is specifically designed for gaming.

It has 64 MB cache which will reduce the load times and comes with a 5-year warranty.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Dorian_WD
