Im looking for a CHEAP UPS for my modem and router

Rorgash

I think i might have a faulty electrical thing and im not sure where i would move it or if i could move it to see, and even if i could figure it out i cant really move it somewhere else SOoo..

Im having trouble with my modem or router restarting at random times, and i have tried 3 routers and 2 modems, and it did this on my old computer, on my new computer and on my moms laptop, so its not network card or drivers thats the issue here, only thing left is the electrical wiring, seeing as it effects both wireless and wired its not cable or signal either.

so i thought that maybe some cheap UPS could keep it alive for that milisecond of lacking power.

any recommendations OR do you know what it might be and a fix for it? that would also be awesome.

What is your budget for the UPS? There are a lot of different options, but if you only need something that can run a modem and router for a little while, something like this will probably suffice. (probably in the 150-300 watts max is what you need)

15" MBP TB

AMD 5800X | Gigabyte Aorus Master | EVGA 2060 KO Ultra | Define 7 || Blade Server: Intel 3570k | GD65 | Corsair C70 | 13TB

Do both of your devices operate on 12v and have 2.1mm barrel plugs? if so, you could go with something like http://www.ebay.com/itm/BELKIN-12V-BATTERY-BACK-UP-REV-B-BU3DC001-RESIDENTIAL-GATEWAY-/131292344248?pt=US_Uninterruptible_Power_Supplies&hash=item1e91a22fb8 and just get a Y-connector for the end. It's what I use.

IIRC that unit will provide four amps at 12v, and is equipped with a 7.2Ah SLA.

I agree with this if it'd work with the devices involved. Cheap AC output UPSes have modified sine wave outputs that shorten the lives of wallwarts dramatically.

I got Four of these (a Black one, and a Gray one) from a friend of mine who did installs for AT&T. They've kept my WRT54g running for around Six hours a piece before.
