Hello

Since I added another graphics card in SLI to my rig it has been causing problems. It will crash in the middle of playing games then will restart saying a power surge has been detected. Also sometimes my after turning my computer on, lights will turn on but it wont boot up and no fans will spin but I can here electrical noises. After a while it will boot with a message saying "SO power OK delay fail". I use a surge protector and have a decent  power supply (Corsair RM850) so I'm confused to what the problem might be. I have since removed the 2nd  and havn't had many problems since.

My specs are

i5-4670K

Asus Maximus VI Hero

Corsair Vengance Pro 8Gb @1600mhz (2x 4gb)

2x Asus GTX 770 DCUII OC

Samsung 840 Evo 250Gb

Segate 2tb SSHD

Corsair RM850

Noctua NHu-14S

Fractal Design Arc Midi R2

I haven't overclocked anything, I have tried resetting the BIOS and all drivers are up to date.

Any help will be much appreciated

PSU probably.

My guess would be bad PSU, or bad connections.

I'd reinstall the second GPU, then make sure every power connector is plugged in tight, then test. If it fails, RMA the PSU, and make sure to note exactly what the issue is to Corsair.

You psu has 70.8amps on the 12v rail/s and one 770 needs 42amps on the 12v rail/s and i believe this is your problem. There isn't sufficient amperage even though you have a GOLD PSU. There is that 1% that the PSU could be faulty.

Have you tried contacting Corsair's support and see if they can advise you?

It seems like your PSU

^ 98% sure.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
