fast ticking/clicking noise coming from the power supply

origx36

hello,

for the past 3 days or so,

iv been hearing this anoyying rapid ticking noise from my pc

i opend it today and listend carfully to where it was coming from.

i was unpleased to acknowledge it was coming from the power supply area.

after cleaning the filters for it.and blowing compressed air to it. i started the pc again and the ticking didnt stop.

i belive it is the psu fan that makes the problem.

what can i do about it?

thank you.

Check there's nothing rubbing off the fan blades of the PSU, but it might be difficult to see, as opening the unit will most likely void the warranty

Specs: CPU: AMD FX 6300 Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A DS3P RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB 1866MHz GPU: MSI R9 270 OC edition Case: Sharkoon VS3-S SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB HDD: 1TB Caviar Blue PSU: Corsair CX500W

It will be electrical noises, so don't worry, there is very little that you can do about it except for get a new power supply, which I appreciate is an expensive solution for a minor issue

Compatible with Windows 95
