Hi all, i made a post before about the G10, but this is different,

i have a gtx 760 reference model (with reference cooler) which i got originally because i thought it would mean it works with waterblocks for custom water cooling, but now i see that is a bit more expensive, and i want to use the NZXT G10 with a cooler, but if i were to use that, then where the fan goes on the gpu, would not be blowing air on anything, since all the vram and important things are basically next to the case bracket.

this is what i believe my GPU would look like if i took the cooler:

what would people suggest i do, can i mount a cpu cooler without the gpu, and then just add mini heat sinks to the VRAM etc, to cool that, and i have fans on my side panel which would blow air over the mini heatsinks.

so what do you think i should or could do?

The G10 includes a fan on the bracket to cool your VRMs and VRAM, and it still works fine on reference cards

The G10 includes a fan on the bracket to cool your VRMs and VRAM, and it's just perfect for use on reference cards

He has a half-length card.

The g10 is a bracket with a fan. That fan blows air on the vram and the other components but it's not adequate, especially in some cards.

You should buy some heatsinks from e-bay which cost only ~$2 and you are good to go.

but im saying do i need the g10 to mount the CPU cooler?

Yes you do, it is the only way unless you custom make something.

yeah, but it wont be cooling anything really because of my GPU PCB layout, look at the picture i linked, there is like no point in the fan.

Yeah, if you really want watercooling for that card then a waterblock is probably the way to go, since they're custom designed for the half length card. In terms of AIO coolers they're all really designed for long cards. The Accelero Hybrid is probably the closest you'll get

if i did mount it then with the G10, could i just cut the whole section off that has the fan on it, like cut the metal off if it is just hanging over the end of the card?

Well yes but you could just leave it hanging and not have to cut it and ruin the aesthetic part of it

I don't think you really want to go this route. Yes you could cut up the G10 bracket to make it work, but you still have no fan. Seems like to much work. Looking at mine it doesn't seem like you would have enough card length to reverse it either.

Although one may find a way to ghetto mount the fan. You really only need half the bracket to make a AIO LC mount The rest can be cut off,  its just the fan part.

tbh, i dont really need the fan if i put mini heat sinks on the vram etc... cause my side panel has fans which would blow directly over the gpu, i was just wondering if there is an alternative, because if i went full custom loop it would cost a pretty penny more.
