Chrome glitch?

When I double click in the top left hand side of chrome whilst maximised, it closes is this meant to happen or is it just crashing? Other chrome users do you experience this? 

EDIT: I think it's part of windows, i tried it with file explorer and that worked too.

Yeah I'm using 8.1, but from this website it says it works with most programs: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/20797/stupid-geek-tricks-double-click-the-left-window-icon-to-close-an-app-in-windows/
