BF4 performance issue

i have bought a 144hz monitor and i waqs sure that i can hold 120 constantly with a gtx 770 and an amd fx 8120@4.1 ghz in bf4, but no.

i get 80 or less fps on some maps i dont know if this is throttling or something, anyways bf4 is only using 4 outof 8 cores but i thought bf4 supports 8 cores.

can someone halp me to get better fps ty

BF4 only supports 4 threads, not 8 but your CPU shouldn't be bottlenecking. Also a GTX770 cannot do 120 FPS in BF4 as far as I know. (On ultra anyway)

If you're looking at 1080p @ ultra settings, you're gonna have a bad time.

Even a 290x or 780 ti wouldn't be able to hold 120 fps constantly.

I think your GPU is holding you down or your settings aren't set to low or off. Also this depends on the maps that are being played, the new Dragons Teeth DLC maps are really poorly optimized with DirectX. 

 

Just make sure you're using the latest GPU drivers and completely remove the old ones before installing the new ones. I like to use DDU

i have no problem with 1080p low settings and everithing off

and when im plyying on low like normaly and i set my resulotion to 720 i get no fps increase so i cant hold 120 on low 720p

bf4 is one of a few games optimized 4 8 cores

Apparently you need to add this line

 

GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8

 

Before it can use 8 threads so I'm going by defaults here (Friend has I7-920, 8 threads, but only 4 are being used)

i have done this already a few times but if u put this in my game set its settings to ultra and when i change them and apply them nothing happens and it stays on ultra

i think the problem is throttling but i cant find the amp setting in my bios (970a-ud3)

unpark your cpu i did it on my 8350 and gained a lot of FPS

i used that cpu unpark ttol and i clicked "check status" but it found no cpu core  have i done something wrong?

or at least that bf4 uses all cores becuz i think my cores were never parked

The other way is to go into your registry yourself and do it (there are tutorials on how to manually unpark your cores)

but this is the software way

 

there is a BIOS way, which is disabling C6 (which turns off cores to save power)

 

and also, BF4 will always use one less core than you really have (so if you have a 6 core cpu, there will be 5 job threads)

After Dragon's teeth DLC came out alot of people had FPS go down and odd frame issues. It seems to come up regardless of CPU or GPU manufacturer.

Dragon's Teeth seems to be horribly unoptimized for every platform (next gen and PC), or maybe the map is more detailed, demanding more horsepower

you would actually need three lines, but i cant recall them from memory

I doubt you will be able to hold a steady 120 fps with a gtx 770 on ultra, 1080p.
