VMWare...running OS X Mavericks on a Windows based PC.

Go to solution Solved by equippedbum,

VMWare 3D acceleration is quite good compared to other solutions such as VirtualBox or KVM where it's possible to play some light games. For full graphics acceleration you would need a Type 1 hypervisor and VT-d or AMD-Vi with a secondary graphics card for PCI passthrough. You did install VMware Tools in the OS X guest and enabled 3D acceleration?

I have no clue...I bought the laptop w/the VM on it. I'll look into the tools/and 3D acceleration. Thanks...

I have an Asus G750 laptop, with /24gb of RAM, running Windows 8.1.

I bought it w/ the VMWare program on it, running OS X Mavericks.

I've Google'd quite a bit about making the OS X run faster and smoother.

When I'm playing games on Windows it's lightning quick, but the VMWare isn't so peppy.

I'm not super computer savvy...what are some ways to make the OS X run quicker?

I'm not trying to game on the VM...when I switch over to Mavericks, I just want it to run quicker.

Not running it in a virtual machine would be a good start since they tend to be a little slower anyway.

Virtual machines BUTCHER graphical performance. They're not indended for gaming.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

unless you have a sdd as your boot or a second hdd it will lag, and os x is buggy on vmware beacuse it was never intended to work from the get go.
