I suppose I should give everyone the background.

 

my pc would start randomly shutting off when gaming, or even under windows. I checked power, that was fine, I checked all the obvious things, like CPU temps.

 

then I fired up CCC, and checked gpu temps... 156c

 

call me stupid, but I had to check for myself...

(not my hand, didn't take a picture of the damage, but looked just like this)

Side of the hand hit a heatpipe, not fun.

 

Turns out, cooler broke.

 

Now I'm building my own, with a couple 92mm Xigmatech fans, and some aluminium.
