Just like to point out, Intel 8 core at 3.3GHz (I'm assuming that's the all core speed) = AMD 8 Core at 4.7GHz, with the Intel being at almost half the TDP

The GHz war is truly over

GHz war has been done for AT LEAST 5 years. The problem is that 90% of the people dont understand that it doesnt really matter how fast your cpu runs if the instructions per cycle isn't good.

The only people who still thought the "war" was going on are people who will buy the 5960x so that Call of Duty can run at 200fps on their 60hz screens.

The amount of games that are bound by the cpu in either speed or cores are VERY few and far between, same with ram. Just buy an i5 and get a better gpu. Leave x99 for people like the linus media group who will actually use it.

Primary:

Intel i5 4670K (3.8 GHz) | ASRock Extreme 4 Z87 | 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical LP 2x8GB | Gigabyte GTX980ti | Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 240GB | Corsair RM 850W | Nanoxia Deep Silence 1| Ducky Shine 3 | Corsair m95 | 2x Monoprice 1440p IPS Displays | Altec Lansing VS2321 | Sennheiser HD558 | Antlion ModMic

HTPC:

Intel NUC i5 D54250WYK | 4GB Kingston 1600MHz DDR3L | 256GB Crucial M4 mSATA SSD | Logitech K400

NAS:

Thecus n4800 | WD White Label 8tb x4 in raid 5
