hmm nearly got a 3930k, glad i didnt (very glad now), 5820k looks very compelling, that said 255% increase in cost=33% more power.....bit expensive but thats hardly surprising.

guess its worth it if you really need to run 4 graphics cards, but if you really need the extra pcie lanes you should be running dual xeons.

is it just me or has the 5930K become useless now that the 5820K has 6 cores?

i mean, it looks like youre paying for 0.2 Ghz more baseclock

It's become the twist of the same old story of previous years.

The 4930K/4960X and 3930K/3960X were the same story as the current debacle of the 5820K/5930K. Same chip but slightly clocked lower. lol not the first time

just released in the UK on overclockers...

   http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=6&subid=1672

HAPPY BUYING :P

Well, it wouldnt be worth it for me to upgrade from the i7-4790K, its not worth the investment for me.

I'm streaming every day, many AAA games, to entertain people and to get a hang of games that others are unable to play or want to see before they buy.

Check my profile for my ultimate rig! http://linustechtips.com/main/user/109708-shift/

The big difference between the 5820k and 5930k is the PCIe lanes available.  5820k has 28, 5930k has 40 IIRC. So, this means that you can have high-speed storage with 4-way SLI on the 5930k and not run out of PCIe lanes

Thank you! I am so glad I am not the only person who seems to think that core count is the only important facet of a CPU.
