Graphics card + Onboard graphics

I have my GTX 660 and I have an i5 with HD4000 graphics, both with HDMI ports out the back, is there a way to get one to go to my TV for Netflix viewing and the other to maintain my desktop?

One of the reasons I want to do this is so I don't have to keep switching HDMI cables from the long one that crosses the room back to the short one that goes to the monitor 3 feet from the rig.

Even if I have to change the display settings somehow I think it would be easier than having to move the rig back and forth to swap cables.

Thoughts?

you can enable the Intel graphics using the BIOS

it will be under Peripherals menu for the mobo

set aside like 512-1GB of RAM for Intel to run as VRAM

plug the HDMI to the mobo

boot up

go to display resolution

you should be able to see the inactive screen

enable it and set allow windows to extend my desktop

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Ha, didn't even consider going into the BIOS, just thought there was some way to control it through Windows I didn't know about.

Thanks for the info, efforting it now.

just plug the tv in the gtx 660 with one hdmi cable and the other monitor with another hdmi cable. then go to your windows desktop and rightclick --> "screen resolution" or whatever it is in english --> click on the monitor you want as desktop --> set it as main monitor

                                                                                      wow... pretty empty here...
