Im the only one in my whole school that knows what cpu stands for. I want to get some of my friends into computer hardware but most of them are just haveing a wonderful time drolling over Xbox one. How can I convince them into the PC master race?

If they prefer console gaming as apposed to the obvious superiority of owning a PC, then let them. There's likely no way you can convince them of how useful the many other applications of a computer are compared to just gaming. They wont care that you can do things like efficiently browse the internet, or that you can get a better overall experience playing your games on a PC. They probably also will not be able to comprehend the ability to plug their previously owned XBox controllers into their computer's UBS slots to play game they already enjoy with higher quality graphics, and occassionally improved gameplay features. As well, I'm almost certain they won't care about how insanely awesome their computers can be made to be.

Well they have to have a PC anyway for doing other stuff... instead of having a $600 PC that's kinda nice and they can browse the web and do word documents with, and a $400 console which can do some basic gaming, why not just get a $1000 PC that's really nice, and can do all their stuff and play games way better than their console, and is upgradeable in the future instead of having to get a whole new one, and doesn't have a subscription fee to use the internet.

That's pretty much what I tell all my friends. Same thing if they like gaming on the go. Why spend $600 on a console and $1500 on a Macbook when you can get a $1200 laptop that does all of that and more?

 

Plus there's mods, emulators, better immersible experience, cheaper games(Thanks Steam), and a huge community that is even bigger than Call of Duty and Xbox Live.

If they don't know what CPU stands for then consoles are probably a better choice for them. Don't force PC elitism on them. They have a right to drool over the Xbox one as we have a right to drool over PC superiority.
