How well does 770 compete against the R9 290? I've seen the MSI 770 is like way cheaper than the R9 290 Tri-x but how well does it perform?

770 is equal to a 280x

780 is equal to a 290

so the 770 is worse than a 290

GPU boss says they are equally good, if I can trust that.

'good' can mean more stuff than performance. It can also be temperature, noise, power consumption, etc...

But performance the 770 definitely comes behind the 290

How much is 300gbp in dollars?

It's 1 GBP  = 1.65 dollars. It doesn't matter anyway, product pricing doesn't follow that rule, it depends on the location and the way you purchase it. There are products that you found for $500 on the US and £499 on the UK, or even higher. There are other stuff that gets done in Europe and it's a lot cheaper than you can get it on the US, for example EK-Supreme LTX CPU blocks were around  £24.99 last week while they cost like $60 in North America.

780ti just for 2 fps better then 290x?

This is just not true. It would be at least 5,maybe up to 10. Also not to mention that you can overclock it and it will still run on lower temperatures.

But anyway,290 is better then 770,but not as good as 780 if they are same price(because I care about noise, temperatures, drivers etc)

The 2fps better depends on the game. This is jsut one of many examples. It is not always 2fps :P

And yeah I care a lot about noise and temps, as well as the drivers and software that come with my GPU. That is why I bought a 770 instead of a 290. But most people would rather have better fps.

EDIT: To answer your question OP, the PowerColour r9 290 PCS+ from OCUK comes with a free RAM kit which will save you £60 if you are building from new. Alternatively, they're also selling the PCS+ 290x for £360 with the same free RAM kit, so again, if you're in need of RAM as well you can get both for £360, and the 290x is a very very good card.

I am not moron, but I see you are for calling other people like that first. Not everyone knows how much $ or euro are 300gbp. How about I wrote a post and put some unfamiliar value to you? You wouldn't ask. omg

It takes 10 seconds to find it out. $, € and £ are three of the biggest currencies in the world, used by the majority of users here, and with really simple exchange rates.

In reality the exchange value doesn't matter. Here an R9 290 is roughly £300 which is about $500. I'm sure in the US $500 would get you more than a 290...

Well in our country we only have one currencies, and it is not either of that. I know to translate it into dollars and euro, but I never bought anything with gbp,so how should I know that?

Never met it before because I really didn't need it.

Anyway if he can get 780 I would recomend it. It runs cooler and with less noise, ability to overclock it more, shadowplay, better drivers. But it is all about personal choice.
