Is it mounted properly?

Have you tried other software?

Where the hell is your voltage at!? Anyone else notice the 116.8W draw on package??? sweet baby jesus turn that voltage down. :o Max TDP on the i7-4790k is 88W http://ark.intel.com/products/80807/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_40-GHz , you're going to fry that chip if those readings are anywhere close to correct. I've never even gotten close to 80W and that's at 1.30v core.

Mine gets to ~100 on package at 1.31v, and usually ~70 uncore

But I'm guessing you're not getting Tmax 100C readouts and aren't running a cache voltage @1.31? Something is seriously f'd up to be pulling that much power.

No I don't run at 100c :P

To be hitting 116.8w he's got to have every voltage setting stacked over safety values, or one or two even further out, the TIM application/cooler is a moot point with that kind of wattage pull.

I'm going to call hitting the "Auto OC" button fail.

Some more information for those of you who are curious:

This is a prebuilt ~$1300 computer that I bought from CyberpowerPC. I wanted to build my own computer as a learning process but due to the fact that I was practically never home during the summer and that I had absolutely no experience with building computers, my mother advised me to just buy one instead. Needless to say there's a ton of problems with this computer and i'm going to return it soon and join the pc building master race.

No overclocks, I've only had the computer on for a few hours. H60 cooler, pumps are working as far as i can tell. For some reason the GTX 780 logo doesn't light up.

down load a software called speed fan, if not that you should have corsair link software if you have a h60i

Can you provide a screen grab of your current voltages? This may be a pretty simple fix and would save you the hassle of returning it...

Gigabyte z97 board. Did they even fix that issue with the voltages?I guess not.

99% sure that's the adaptive voltage kicking in. Go to bios and disable it.
