Hello there! :3

My brother is in need of a gaming rig with his very limited budget. He has £350 to spend on:

CPU,

CPU Cooler,

Motherboard,

Graphics Card,

Case,

Power Supply,

Wireless Network Adapter,

Monitor,

Keyboard,

Mouse.

He won't be needing any RAM or Storage as he already has those. (1x8GB Kingston DDR3 1600MHz and a 250GB WD)

As for an optical drive and headset, they won't be required either. (Already have those but unsure of brand)

This build will hopefully be doing some gaming as well as some small amounts of video editing and rendering but nothing too intensive.

well... he needs a OS too, and the prefierals alone will be like £100-150 plus the OS so right there, £200-250, that leaves only £100-150 for the pc..... dont build a pc at this price range, if you do he will be disappointed with the performance. get a nice £500 budget

Well, despite what some of you have said, I don't think this is a bad build considering his price range:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/LyjkHx

He isn't too bothered about 1080p on the monitor and really isn't fussed about extremely awesome peripherals. Just as long as it will get okay ish performance on some of the more modern games.

As for an OS, he'll be gathering his finest crew and setting sail on the vast seas.

Why would you waste money on a aftermarket cooler? And minecraft Low settings maybe 30 fps. You are way better off with a PS4

Contrary to all the console flack that is given on this thread so far, i think the build that your proposed is excellent and will yield even playable framerates in tripple A titles. He is gonna like it. :)

Edit: i would invest a little bit more into a nice mouse though (20 GBP or so).

who cares...

It's not like he's not gonna touch it unless it can pull at least High settings in BF4 or is it? The cooler you chose is also great for a little overclocking, which you should do, i mean the system is not a beast but it's a beast for that kind of money.

who cares...

Hi there Kopaii,

For the budget the build looks nice. Although there is already a HDD of 250 GB, I would personally choose a drive with a larger capacity. It should be better for a number of modern games. The WD Blue is reliable and should be fine for the purposes you've listed. For a further upgrade, you might take a look at the WD Black line (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=760). It is recommended for gamers, due to it's performance.

Hope this helps,

Titania_WD
