I am personally an atheist because the idea of a god has never made sense to me.

Also I don't really like *certain* kinds of religious people. You know, the extremists and what-not. 

But I also dislike those who blindly follow and those who think that the Bible (or whatever text is relevant) is proof of a god's existence. 

Having something written down does mean that it is a fact, if I write 'this is a piece of cake' on a piece of paper does it make it cake?   No.   So why does writing 'God is real' etc. on a piece of paper and then calling it 'The Bible/Koran/whatever'  make it true.

If that was how logic worked I would spend all my day enjoying magic paper cake.
