Great build. Pretty much a top off the line high end gaming PC. Just a little heads up watch out for @AlwaysFSX he for some reason tries to get everyone to not get the 4790K don't listen to him.

He has a point...

i7s offer little to no performance in games and this is a gaming PC.

Drop the H100i and get a x41 or x61, it performs better and changes colors :3

wow, thats a lot of bees!

It looks pretty solid.

Unless you are rendering/editing you really only need a i5-4690k and 8GBs unless you want an i7-4790k and 16GBs which is not really useful for gaming.

I think you could use a better motherboard as yours is a little lower end. (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/enthusiast-z97-motherboard-overclock,3893.html) These are the mid-higher end motherboards are better quality and with how much you are spending you should probably invest in one of those.

Also you should really up that power supply as I feel that might be a little low for what you have going on.

I'm a student currently attending the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, if you attend or around there please don't hesitate to contact me!

Mudkip: CPU: i5-4670k; Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo; Memory: 16GBs Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz; Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X UD5H; GPU: ASUS DCUII 770 2GB @ 1254MHz; HDD: Seagate Barracude 1TB; PSU: CX750M; Case: ThermalTake A31 Chaser Thunder

Overall great build.

I do some editing with adobe after affects and my current PC just can't handle it well enough. Also for max settings in games that demand a high end build like watchdogs and possibly some 1440P gaming

Unless you are doing any heavily threaded workloads a i5 would be just as good. :)

I am doing enough threaded workloads that it is necessary for i7.

He said he will be using it for some adobe after effects work and gaming, so if he can afford it he might as well go with the i7.

@monjanger just as a suggestion next time you post a build you should inform people that you are using it for editing/rendering as that is really important cause otherwise people will suggest i5s

I need that i7 and the 16GB of ram will make my life easier.

All looks good to me with the exception of the Corsair fans. Noise to performance on the entire line, especially SP120 QE's, is pretty mediocre.

I'd say Akasa Apache or Rosewill Hyerborea's (Same thing) would do quite nicely. You'd save some money too, could buy a pizza and a Slurpee.

EDITL The G1 series of EVGA PSU's seem to have very mixed opinions, I'd personally go a little overboard on the power and get a 750W G2.

INTEL CORE i5-7600K | ASUS ROG STRIX B250i GAMING | CRUCIAL BALLISTIX SPORT LT 16GB | EVGA GTX 970 SC | EVGA B3 550W
SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB | CRYORIG M9i | BE QUIET! PURE WINGS 2| FRACTAL DESIGN DEFINE NANO S

Personally I'd get rid of the optical drive unless you know for sure you'll be needing it.

nobody uses optical drives these days

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

Drop the aftermarket fans and use a good portion of the savings to buy a good psu - SeaSonic SSR-650RM, SeaSonic X660 Gold,  or Corsair HX650. Put the rest into a better motherboard - if you don't mind spending a touch more perhaps the Asus Maximus VII Gene. Otherwise it's a good build.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
