So I've owned a pair of Beyer Dynamic DT660s for about 3-4 months now and they're my first pair or "auidophile" headphones, relatively speaking. I think they sound great...better than anything I've owned previously. They're 32 ohms so I've been plugging them directly into my motherboard.

I decided to step it up and purchased a pair of Beyer Dynamic DT990 Premiums with a @MayflowerElectronics O2 Amp as I purchased the 600 ohm variant of the headphones. I've yet to receive them but I think I will be very pleased. Thoughts? Comments?

You bought them, you tell us what you think.

Haven't actually received either of the, but I know users on here have DT990s and also use Mayflower Amps/DACs.

Definitely

Review probably won't be too great as I don't know all the audiophile terminology, but I can manage pictures.

odd choice to "upgrade" to a 990 from a 660

Why odd? Do you consider it a small incremental upgrade or because it's still a BD headphone?

I've been using my DT 990 pro 250's now for the past 6 months. If they ever die I will probably go and purchase the premium 600's because I love these headphones so much. If it wasn't for Logan @TekSyndicate and Tyler @MayflowerElectronics I would still be using "Gaming Headsets". Thanks so much for the educational video guys.

Happy to help! From what I've read the 660's are pretty average so as long as you like bass and treble you'll love these headphones!

Great!

Inb4 you don't like the 990's

I was wary of the DT660 because of reviews, but after adjusting to their sound I like them. One thing I can agree with reviews is they're not bass heavy...at all. There's bass but it's not hard hitting thumping bass; I actually appreciate this now.

Hence the prediction. At least you'll have a variety of sound signatures. :P

Right now? Honestly don't know. Nothing crazy.

I might get myself the new he-560's for my birthday but other than that the rest of my headphones are in my profile thing on the forum.

I have the DT990 pro have after a lot of discussions whether to buy the Pro or the Premium version (600Ohms).

From what i know some people say the Premium version (600Ohms) is tighter on the bass while not as bloated as the Pro, also the Pro version has "harsher" treble.

All in all the DT990 Premium (600 ohms) are probably the better headphones and are more refined, that's only if you have the appropriate amp to power them, which obviously you do. They also have less clamping force which is better for long sessions.

Thing that made me buy the Pro is definitely the price. When i bought the Pro, the Premium version cost twice as much..so it didn't really make sense for me.

Enjoy them  ;)

Yeah you can't post something like that without explaining your reasoning behind it :P It can help a lot of people in their decisions to go with one of these products.
