how do i get my fps to show in the corner of my screen? i have windows 8.1 and i run an asus direct cu2 780

You can use a program like fraps or msi afterburner.

As above fraps/msi afterburner have it

 

Also most games have it built in as a console command

- MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X (pretty much the same but precision looks nicer)

- Fraps

- Using shadowplay if you have an Nvidia card

- Built-in commands in the game.

Skyrim unfortunately doesn't have a built-in fps counter, so you'll have to use something like fraps to display the FPS.

Yep it works just fine in 8.1.
