What is Intel cpu that is as powerfull as fx 6300

I have GIGABYTE MB GA-Z87X-D3H 1.0

and i don't know should i sell it and buy amd board or keep it and buy a decent intel cpu

If the price difference i big enough i'm selling it and buying

asrock 970 extreme3

Also how much is GIGABYTE MB GA-Z87X-D3H 1.0 worth on ebay considering its not even used since i don't have intel socket 1150 cpu.

Specs: AMD FX 6300 @ 4ghz, Asus R9 270 OC, 8gb Corsair xms3, Cooler Master GX 550w PSU, WD 500 blue, Gigabyte  GA-970A-DS3

I think the i5-4440 is just a tad more powerful than the FX-6300.

ok that's not that expensive i can live with that

Depends whether you're using a few cores or all the cores. In 2 threaded applications you're looking at Wolfdale E8600s, if 4 threads are in use it trades blows with i3 with HT enabled and if 6 threads are used it can compete with a locked sandy i5 2400

just get the i3 processor or even better the i5 4440.  Both of them will be faster than an FX 6300, maybe the i3 wont be as good at things that require allot of cores but both should do the trick in gaming.

how about overclocking. Aniallation pointed out that that i5 4440 is locked witch is a huge -

What is the main function of your computer?  Gaming? What kind of games?  Do you do any kind of video editing and rendering?

i do edit unboxing, reviews and build videos, but the main function is gaming

Stick with the Z87, buy yourself an unlocked i5.  It will trounce the FX in gaming, and will still do better at video editing and rendering.

overclocking? pentium.

still not as overclockable as fx 6300, and even overclocked not as powerfull as fx 6300 stock. And 2 cores is meh for me

it's the closest thing in terms of price for overclocking. i5 is 100 more than 6300

Xeon e3 1230v3 if you want the HT to simulate having the higher core count. Only $200. It's locked I7 performance basically for relatively cheap.

high-end Haswell i3 with a decent cooler would blow that FX 6300 out of water!

It might be a bit faster in single threaded programs, but it won't be blowing the 6300 out of the water. An overclocked 6300 at it's worst will perform like a stock i3

in term of power consumption, the i3 is efficient in many ways! An overclocked i3 would perform better in multi-threaded programs!

check this out, i'm not sure if these are real benchmarks

Depends on how much of a big-time overclocker you are.

ill tell how much. Got intel c2d 2.4ghz to 3,3ghz running on 1.5V @ 95C on stock cooler.

3 things i don't care about when buying a cpu

Heat

power consumption

intergrated graphics

yeah, its locked.  But you can still overclock it, its not fully locked.  And you have a z87 board, so you can still overclock it.  Not huge I might add, but a nice small one :)
