Haswell-E to be released on August 29!

X1XNobleX1X

The launch of Core i7 Extreme "Haswell-E" microprocessors for high-end desktop market is nearing, and they may be introduced by the end of August, two weeks earlier than anticipated.According to SWEClockers, NDA on the next generation Extreme processors will be lifted on August 29, at which time we will see the first reviews, and the boxed parts will be listed in stores. Compared to Core i7-4xxx line of products, the Haswell-E processors will have several enhancements, the most noteworthy ones being more CPU cores, larger cache size and increased memory bandwidth. The chips will be paired with unreleased yet Intel X99 chipset, that will also have a few new features, like increased number of SATA 3.0 ports, 6 USB 3.0 ports, and support for Window 8.0 and 8.1 operating systems.

Based on past reports, Intel plans three SKUs with model numbers Core i7-5820K, i7-5930K and i7-5960X.

The i7-5960X is the first Intel's consumer chip with 8 CPU cores. The processor runs at 3 GHz, or up to 3.5 GHz with the help of Turbo Boost technology, and it uses Hyper-Threading technology to double the number of simultaneously running threads. The 5690X also has 20 MB of L3 cache, quad-channel memory controller, and 40 lanes of PCI-Express 3.0 interface. The CPU's official price is expected to be close to the price of the Core i7-4960X.

The i7-5820K and i7-5930K are six-core processors, that incorporate 15 MB of L3 cache. The i7-5930K has 3.5 GHz stock and 3.7 GHz maximum boost frequencies. The i7-5820K runs at 3.3 GHz, or up to 3.6 GHz clock rates. It also has the number of PCIe lanes reduced to 28.

All three microprocessors have clock multiplier unlocked. They support DDR3-2133 memory, and fit into 140 Watt thermal envelope. The CPUs require socket LGA2011-3:

What happened to our capitalist environment Intel?

What happened to the belief that cores trickle down.

4th generation of extremes and still only 6 core $500 K skew.

You disappoint. D:

It just needs to hurry and come out. I want to see some benchmarks.
Stocking up already on food and drink for TTL's 5 hour video........(maybe a little exaggerated.)

New formula and RIVE boards are getting me a bit excited aswell.
DDR4 better be be good.

lets just wait for the 800 series to come out first then reasses that..... I'm starting to get a really bad vibe from the green team.

You're probably right. I don't see how DDR4 memory will make a major difference.

Hopefully we see a big jump between X79 to X99.

Allegedly introduced to SweClockers Haswell-E is planned to launch on August 29, about two weeks earlier than first expected . On that date the media may post reviews while retailers are allowed to list processors as well as the motherboard.

Very suggests the there may be a shortage of components. Some larger shipments of processors in the Core i7-5000 series is not yet speaking of and simultaneously reported the availability of DDR4 memory is limited, so it may take until September before it is possible to stitch together computer package with the new Haswell-E.

Depends on what you are doing, z97 is waaaay more budget friendly than x99. Enthusiasts will get Haswell-E. You dont need that for gaming :)

http://www.techpowerup.com/204172/intel-core-i7-haswell-e-and-x99-motherboards-launch-date-revealed.html

Intel is expected to launch its next flagship Core i7 HEDT (high-end desktop) processors, codenamed "Haswell-E" along with compatible motherboards based on the company's X99 Express chipset, on the 29th of August, 2014. The platform will introduce DDR4 system memory to the consumer space. On that day, Intel's new processors, compatible motherboards, and DDR4 memory modules should be ready to buy off the shelf.

Intel's Core i7 "Haswell-E" processor lineup will include three parts, two six-core, and one eight-core. Leading the pack will be the Core i7-5960X, featuring eight cores based on the "Haswell" micro-architecture, with HyperThreading enabling 16 logical CPUs; a staggering 20 MB of shared L3 cache, and 3.00 GHz clock speed. It will command a four-figure price. Next up, is the Core i7-5930K, featuring six cores, HyperThreading enabling 12 logical CPUs, 15 MB of shared L3 cache, and 3.50 GHz clocks. This chip will be priced anywhere between $500 and $750. The most affordable chip will be the Core i7-4820K, which will be a six-core chip. Its other specs are unclear. It is expected to be priced between $350 and $450.IMGP2857.JPG
