Hyper 212 EVO + Pentium G3258

Go to solution Solved by flibberdipper,

Should be. I got my Sempron up to 4.82GHz with something like 1.6 or 1.7 volts on a TX3 (a cut down EVO).

Hi,

Will the Pentium be able to go up to 4.8GhZ with the 212 EVO?

Thanks.

It might. I don't really know lol. That 212 EVO is a good low-price air cooler.

It depends on whether you win the silicone lottery, really. Although I wouldn't be surprised if you were able to reach around 4.5 on it.

I got my 4790k to 4.7 on a Hyper 212 Evo (possibly could have gone higher), so if you win the Silicon Lottery, the cooling shouldn't be a problem.

good look getting a 4.8ghz g3258, only @Jumper118 and cherry pick review samples seem to manage it. I think @ProKoN managed it after a few pentiums...

but to answer the question as long as you're at reasonable vcore (1.35v or lower) it will cool it fine.

Idk if it was a review sample, but I saw the build in a magazine :S I presumed it was from the company that they were advertising, and they chose a Silverstone Argon AR01, which is better by like 3 degrees, and they apparently got it to 4.8

Haswell is the biggest crap shoot ever :( My G3258 didn't get past 4.1 stable regardless, 4.2 crashed after an hour of xtu stress.

yes, if your chip is as good as my first one. one of mine did 4.8ghz on 1.3v and the other max out at 4.7ghz on 1.4v which would probably make too much heat for a hyper 212.
