Looking for a laptop for school

Deddie

So I need a new laptop for school as my current one isn't cutting it any more (it's a loud and slow celeron laptop).

My budget is 1000€ and I live in Finland. I'd like a 15" laptop with a 1080p or higher resolution IPS panel and a touch-screen would be a plus. I'll be using the laptop for taking notes and some programming and I'm not going to game with it.

Here's two laptops that I've found that looks good but I have no idea if they have TN or IPS panels: http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/N550JK-CN143H http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/N56JN-CN118H

Here's some Finnish stores so you know where to look for laptops: http://cdon.fi/kodin_elektroniikka/kannettavat_tietokoneet/ http://www.jimms.fi/listaa/326 http://multitronic.fi/

a good thing to go by is: if it doesnt state the panel type, it's TN as IPS is usually listed as a plus.

a good laptop without IPS is the Asus X552CL

I know that if they don't list the panel type it's usually not IPS but I think the N550JK has one as the Asus site says that the 1080p version is IPS but for the N56JN the site says "Up to Full HD IPS displays" so that's why I'm not sure.

N550JK is IPS and I would get it. 850m is more powerful and cpu is capable enough.

If you plan to carry it around alot I would also check out and try to find the new edition of ACER V5 573G wth i5 4210u and 850m, I have seen one in lithuanian stores and it's pretty crazy for the price and much lighter at only 2kg.

Asus N550JK? I don't know how expensive it is in your country, though.

Yeah the N550JK is an option but I can only find a version of it with a i5-4200u processor in my price range. I found one with the i7 that was in my price range but it's out of stock atm.

Edit: it's in stock now, gonna buy it now. :)
