Need help for wiring motors for electric skateboard

Bajantechnician

This has nothing with pcs, but if there are two switches connected with an arduino or something, and there are only two different currents, what do I so so that when I turn one on, it turns the other one off? It also changes currents constantly. Thanks.

Didn't even know electric skateboards were a thing... :/

Roses are red, violets are blue, computers are awesome, and so are you!

Your going to need a variable speed controller of the right amps/volts then use the arduino to control that. Checkout these builds http://hackaday.com/?s=electric+skateboard

basicly the exact thing as the z board, but only homemade. i have a skateboard ready, but need guidance for tech and weight controllers. thx

alright thx

, , but what if i want it to be weight controled?

The Z board has two spring loaded buttons on the board via a large hole drilled into the board at manufacturing so I'd be muchg easier to use a R/C remote also it needs to be a mountain board or a long board to be able to put the motor on it which also needs to be a fairly large outrunner made for R/C airplanes.

is bout a 3 ft long board, and i dont kile the rc remote concept tho.thats why i want weight control. thx

you could use load cells for the weight control

Where are you going to get 115 volts on a skateboard? You are doing something pretty difficult here, and costly.

Those are for washing machines, you'd want one of these and build the board like this and this.

is that motor enough for my weight and stuff? an d what if i get two of em

are there any that could tell weight that as  slowly being added on?, lke my foot?

i got a $400 budget. its difficult, i suppose, but i consider it as fun and a learing experience

You have a sprocket on both the drive wheel and the motor shaft and a chain or belt to connect them so you can gear them to get more speed or more torque but since it's an outrunner which already has a ton of torque you can gear it a little more for speed also you'll need a larger sprocket on the wheel than the sprocket on the motor so you have enough torque but increasing and decreasing the size of  one or both of the sprocket/s it gives you a different gearing ratio ie: more speed and less torque or more torque and less speed. There are programs you can download for free that calculate this for you, you just have to enter things like the size of the wheels, sprockets, power of the motor etc. and it'll give you a graph which are fairly simple to read, just forgot what some the the programs are called but should be fairly simple to find via Google.

could you explain this a bit better please? I dont know any of this at all. Im just a 13 year old who is becoming 14 in 3 days with big dreams:) and is there any place you could dig a a diagram or something for me please? thanks

Edit: never ming :) sprockets the little gear thingy on the wheel shaft and motor right?

Yup, also this is what I'm talking about, from the forum thread. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=37230

For whatever reason it won't let me embed the img. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/download/file.php?id=77797&sid=20b81e02e7933e576785c67debe9b713
