Anti virus for Android?

I just switched to android and I was wondering about anti virus, do you use an anti virus app for android? I had lookout recommended to me, and it seems to get great reviews. The most important thing to me is that it won't slow down my phone or hurt battery.

Oh... Really? Also some apps have a find your lost phone thing which could save my bacon

Don't bother

Download apps from the play store and you'll be fine.

Android device manager has that built in to the phone.

If you only get stuff from the play store, you are perfectly safe. However, if you are like me and load custom programs and crap not in the play store, use Avast. I use it, and so far i have had no problems.

Avast uses only 11MB of RAM, and AMC uses about the same amount, but has more features.  I use Avast! on my phone, and AMC on my Tablet.

Reread the sentence. #2 is reliant on #1.
