Poison Ivy!

So I got home on Wednesday, after I'd gone on a camping trip with some friends. We'd stayed mostly in a clearing, but I'd gone into bushes a few times. Well, now I have poison ivy, in a small rash on me ankle and little bumps all over my body (except where my shirt and shorts covered me, which is how I identified it). It seems like they don't really itch until I touch them, so I'd pretty much not done anything yesterday, and probably won't today.

 

So, does anyone have any tips? Any remedies that have worked? I found this stuff called Tecnu, which is supposed to basically suck out the oil that causes the rash from your skin. Crossing my fingers. My birthday is on the 4th, and I'd rather not spend it trying to avoid any unnecessary movement...

 

Guys please help, I'm dying here...

Clean the affected area's with vodka and or rubbing alcohol, they did this on mythbusters and if I remember correctly it helped a lot to remove the oils causing the reaction from the skin.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

Possibly stupid question- I have a bottle of isopropyl alcohol, isn't that the same thing? I think that it's a main ingredient in rubbing alcohol.

Yes. Anything that will remove the oils from your skin that are causing the reaction, don't expect immediate relief, but it should keep it from spreading or getting worse, and allow it to get better faster.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

I know of some leaf that protects from poison ivy. Wash the skin vigorously? That stops poison ivy from happening but I don't know anything about post-rash remedies.

Ok, I just soaked a paper towel in it and rubbed it all over my arms and legs. Hoping this does something!
