I am not an enthusiast. I'm just interested. (RANT)

Great contribution ;) Honestly though, for my own curiosity, why bother to go through the effort to post this? If there is a particular reason or logic behind it, I'd be interesting in knowing.

in hopes to get more people on the dont care train so we can stop this rant nonsense. This isn't Linus rant tips. So I dont care if someone's butt hurt.

Personally, I'd be totally down for an OC subforum. We could post a sticky of "Your best OC" for example. Yes, the CPU subforum currently serves that purpose, but that subforum is also thrown in with Motherboard and RAM too. I think a dedicated OC subforum is a great idea.

As for the two WAN shows a week, I can definitely see the appeal to doing so, but ultimately that decision firmly remains in Linus' and Slicks' court. Though users who give those two reasons, well those are just their opinions, and they shouldn't attack yours just because you would enjoy multiple WAN shows.

That was my main point, that rolling OC, CPU, MOBO, and RAM into one subsection (yet monitors, gpu's, psu's, and even keyboard and mouse have their own) is just lazy and disorganized. I doubt theres a shortage of good people willing to moderate if it's because "there's not enough mods"

It's more of a "why all the elitist bullshit" topic than a rant. Just because TECH is in the name, doesn't mean we can ONLY talk about tech. We can talk about things relating to tech, elitist assholes being one of them.

no, you just have just overglorified the term in your own head that's all, and in no way whatsoever is there a requirement to have expensive gear to be an "enthusiast"

Okay then... no offense but I find those poor reasons. First, if you don't care if someone is butt hurt, then that's great, fine, no problem... So don't bother posting. You're not adding constructive criticism or a counter to his statements, you're just saying "Hi, I don't care, bye".

Secondly, his rant has plenty of merit. Being a noob can be incredibly frustrating when people are being an ass or condescending to you. In some places, you just have to deal with it, but LTT was founded on the principle that we're here to combat that stereotype and give noobs all the help they need.

If people being dicks to noobs doesn't bother you, then that's totally fine. But coming into a thread where it DOES bother someone else just to say don't care, I mean it's kinda pointless isn't it? You're not going to convince anyone to not get butt hurt with that comment. If you really wanted to change their minds, you'd need to resort to concise and valid arguments. But since you don't care, it should mean you don't care one way or the other. Which means that your post was pointless.

I dont know why so many people care about other peoples opinions. Buy the shit you want to buy, dont buy it because people told you what to buy. Ive noticed a lot of people here, particularly in the audio section are just retarded/'autistic'.

Look at this thread. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/188571-headphone-dac-amp-for-under-%C2%A3150

EmoRarity and SSL are telling me how bad stuff is without giving any actual reasons. These are the sort of people you ignore.

oh wow. I ignored after reading that xD

good thing I take the advice of "audiophiles" with a grain of salt...

Sorry that thread was so useless for you, too.

I know Linus has scolded the Audio subsection at least once on the WAN show for being dicks. I only hope they can make themselves a bit more noob friendly.
