can i play my stuff in both my jack and speaker?

i have a laptop, and whenever i plug in my earphones into the jack, the speakers mutes, in normal, that's good, but sometimes, i would like to utilize multi tasking for further purposes, and therefore save some time listening to lectures, because i'm doing them together.

now i'm aware that i can do it left and right ear, but because they sound too close, i often loose some words out,

so can i configure my windows 7 to use both at the same time?

You can use something called "virtual audio cable" this should let you play sound through both devices at the same time

They do make adapters that turn 1 audio jack into 2.

Yes you can. All you have to do is go to your Realtec audio driver settings, if you are using a Realtec audio chip and allow the two jacks to work simultaneously.
