Ok here are some options ( I am looking for something like this too at the moment)

 

Macbook Pro Retina 13" or 15"

Razer Blade (best option for gaming but most expensive)

Aorus X3 and X3 Plus 

MSI GS60 

Clevo W230s normally an option on custom sites

Lenovo W540

I'm looking to get a new laptop I need a good screen such as a MacBook Pro and need good battery life I have a budget of about $2500 any suggestions

Ps I'm in Australia

ASUS Zenbook or as you said, a MacBook Pro with Retina display. If you want to game, you'd want something like a Razer Blade. Overall I'd recommend a 256GB MacBook Pro 13" w/ Retina display with AppleCare and a few adapters (eg. MiniDP to VGA)

Get a Macbook Pro Retina? pretty much the best screen, battery life and build quality with amazing specs

 

First off what is the laptop for? Gaming? Editing? Typing documents? Internet? etc etc

 

Are you looking for a particular size? 11", 13", 15", 17"?

 

There are a few laptops coming out with beyond 1080p screens but it depends what other strengths the laptop needs

i like business laptops and if you do too, Lenovo T440s with the optional 6-cell battery. it also has an internal 3-cell too! they say 14+ hour runtime

Dell XPS 15 looks really good. has high res screen 15" screen option.. sexxy ultrabook if an ultrabook is your thing.

Looking at the blade but it takes up to 6 weeks to ship to Australia

Worth it IMO

 

Personally I am torn between the blade, the x3 and the retina pro (the blade is not released in the UK though and I will pay high import duty)
