$2500 Ultimate Gaming build

Hi,

I am looking to refine my gaming build. Budget is $2500 (give or take $150). I live down under in Australia, so cost of pieces is MUCH more. So far I have these parts: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/3bJ923.

 

Wondering is there are any improvements that you guys would think of making :)

you need a CPU cooler, get an H105

Get windows 8.1 instead of 7

He has a CPU cooler listed, the Swiftech.

 

Cheaper ram, cheapermobo, go for a 4690k,don't get oem Windows.

OEM Windows isn't that bad. There's little difference if you're using it on one computer.

Also do you need that DVD drive as you could take the one out of a PC you already have and use that instead :)

It's tied to your motherboard, he will probably.eventually upgrade and won't want to have to deal with buying a new Windows.

By time he should need to upgrade Windows 10 will come knocking.

A simple phone call will allow you to install it on another computer.

Even if you couldn't, unless he upgrades yearly, which is rather useless with current CPU advances, it won't be an issue. There will likely be a much newer version of Windows out by then.

I guess your build is fine, then.

 

I personally would recommend the MSI Gaming 5/7, to save you a few bucks.

Why not ? They will run quieter than a 120mm/140mm.

 

I prefer having a cooler PC (2x120/140) over a quieter one.
