Hey there guys,

I'm looking to build up a powerful computer capable of sophisticated projects in vfx (after effects) a decent punt at 3d with Cinema 4d, and editing/grading at 4k.

Would love to read your thoughts on builds that would be powerful and stable.

The budget I have is approximately $12,000!

Well, it would be doing some real churning with some pretty sophisticated VFX compositions and builds, ie film special effects. Yep I'd deffo appreciate your suggestions for a build spec list :)

You don't need a $12000 pc to do that..........

Was not clear if monitors were part of the budget. So I took the optimistic approach and assumed they were not. I also only provided basic storage.

So, as others have suggested, a dual Xeon system with 64GB of memory and a Quadro K6000. Note the second Xeon at the bottom since pcpartpicker will not allow two cpu even with a dual cpu motherboard. The K6000 is also there because pcpartpicker does not list it.
