Wait what how are you suppose to install a OS into a processor? That's certainly a first.....

*cough* no really though.... a AMD processor will run Win 8.1 just fine *cough*

Yes there is a problem. You cannot install Windows into a processor.

You can however install it onto a hard drive. There is no compatibility issued using an FX processor on Windows 8.

AMD Phenom II 965 C3 @3.8GHz / Scythe Ninja III / 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport / MSI 990FXA-GD65 / MSI R9 270x 4GB / EVGA 600W Bronze / Asus Xonar DG

Let me help you, the others are kinda being dicks..

You install an OS (Operating System) onto your harddrive or SSD (the storage device) and your Processor (CPU) runs it, it takes the info from the storage device. If you have a AMD FX CPU you will be just fine. There are no limitations on what CPU you can use.

This is the easiest way to explaine it but i may have a made a mistake. If you have any questions feel free to PM me!

Also to all the others, everybody has to start somewhere, don't be a dick, be nice and try to help otherwise the forrum will turn in to a place where new people are made fun off because they don't have as much experience as you.

[CPU: AMD FX-6100 @3.3GHz ] [MoBo: Asrock 970 Extreme4] [GPU: Gigabyte 770 OC ] [RAM: 8GB] [sSD: 64gb for OS] [PSU: 550Watt Be Quiet!] [HDD: 1TB] [CPU cooler: Be Quiet! Shadow Rock Pro Sr1]  -Did i solve your question/problem? Please click 'Marked Solved'-
