Thinking in that fashion doesn't make you a horrible person.

Guys, just respect the fact that these bodies are no longer being disturbed. They are in a better place now.

I highly doubt they were able to transmit that message if they were shot down with an AA missle.

Do you think they had time to send out a distress signal (I forget what it is, its something like 00077)

I'd assume they would have some sort of radar detection for missles ans stuff on the plane even knowing it is a commercial plane.

I doubt that kind of a plane was equipped with something to detect a heatseaking missile.

And don't even start talking about missiles. These people died because of them. You are disrespectful if you do talk about so.

If only that were the case..

The most of these coffins are filled with bodies parts not actual complete bodies, and they still have the whole process of identification to go. That combined with the fact that these are only 40 of the near 300 deaths.

Also needs a new profile picture..

With all to respect, but how is it derespectful talking about missiles, yes they may have lost their lives because of one, but I don't think its very disrespectful to question it or talk about it.

I don't see how its disrespectful to talk about the source of the problem well one of the causes of the problem...

Usually the sam sites will have info on the aircraft flying in the operating region but I take it the Russian Rebels aren't very professional in that manner. You usually bounce identification requests to aircraft flying in your aerospace, to see if its friend of foe.

Looks like they just straight up shot em down without bouncing a IFF.

Hmm maybe they turned their radio and stuff off when flying over the area because they new somewhat it was hostile and that provoked them to shoot it down when they didn't get a response from the aircraft.

I find that unlikely, turning your radio off why flying through a hostile area is extremely foolish and I'm sure is against policy's set for commercial pilots.

Commercial flights should have set rules on how to respond to a IFF request, turning your radio off cuts all possible request response's off. It would be suicide if your a commercial flight flying through a warzone.

even if not in a warzone, a commercial flight should NEVER be without contact to air traffic control. IFR traffic is obliged to follow instructions which are usually given via radio.

Ahh yeah what I thought. I was thinking it would be absurd to close of communications for whatever reason.

I'm pretty sure someone out there got killed with a chessboard. It's not the missiles, it's people who control them.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.
