What 1440p monitor should I get?

Sebastiao2160

I'm currently thinking about getting a 1440p monitor. It will be for gaming and everyday use so I don't want the response time to be more than 5ms. Oh, and I would prefer it to be an IPS or PLS panel. Would would you guys suggest?

My PC:

  • Case: Corsair Obsidian 650D
  • Motherboard: MSI Z77A GD65
  • CPU: Intel i5 3570K
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance 4gb 1600mhz Kingston HyperX Blu 4gb 1600mhz
  • GPU: Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce OC
  • Storage: x2 OCZ Vertex 4 256gb in RAID0
  • Power Supply: Corsair TX750M

Yes quite pricey, thanks for the suggestion, I'll see if anyone else says anything.

You can buy one from a Korean seller.

The only downside is that you will have to wait for shipping and that most of the monitors are 6ms response time.

The good side is that they cost only half as much and some come with "Perfect Pixel" stickers(ensuring no dead pixels) and even free shipping.

Now we have to play the waiting game.

I've got the Asus PB278Q and LOVE IT.

I also looked at the Korean screens, but not worth it, too risky no matter what they promise.

[EDIT]

I paid AU$699 for mine and not regretting it one bit.

Yes, I would way rather have a high res IPS instead of a 120hz TN.

Do you think 6ms response time is too slow for gaming? Like will I notice it?

I have one of these 27" Shimian IPS display and I use it for gaming while its not the ideal pro gamer solution it is perfectly fine as a gaming monitor, I use it for black ops 2 and battlefield fps games and for general MMO gaming, not only does it look phenomenal for gaming, it also makes everything else look better, movies photo editing etc...
