On android there is Ghost commander with samba support (plugin?). You can access windows shares or setup samba for *nix boxes. You can even setup this to work over internet. Google drive/Drop box or any other cloud based solution is another option.

It doesn't need any accounts and you can easily sync files but just scanning a QR code. All you really need is some basic folder knowledge and BTS on both devices.

+1 to BiTorrent sync. So far its only software/app I've found that has only one limitation: only works on wireless. Cloud services lack space when you want to move 15gb of music etc. Others need €5 paid version to move batch files or have per file limit.

Airdroid when you are in the same network with your pc and your smartphone.

You get a website interface where you can access your phone and move files.
