Can't find REaltek network controller, deep sleep mode.

THis is the Hardware ID I get and when I look it up I get that it is an Intel Gigabit controller. WHY THE FUCKING FUCK MSI? WHY DO I ONLY GET REALTEK DRIVERS ON YOUR WEBSITE?

There you go... Try installing the drivers for that device and report the problem to MSI so that they can fix it...

Helllo everybody,

 

So recently I decided to upgrade my pc from a 1TB HDD which was dying to a 256 gb SSD Crucial M550 and a WD 2TB HDD. After installing windows 7 32-bit (temporarily as I have 16GB of RAM) everything seemed to work fine until I tried installing the On-board LAN Drivers. Whatever I do it always says that the Realtek controller can not be found and that I should plug the cable if deep sleep mode is enabled.

 

I have tried everything I was able to find on the internet: Leaving the power cable out for 10 minutes, removing RAM-modules and leaving them out for 10 minutes, reinstalling windows, Disabling/re-enabling the on-board LAN controller you name it and I genuinely have no idea what to do now.

 

Specs:

 

MSI X79A-GD45

I7-3820 @ 3.6GHz (Stock)

16GB DDR3-1333

Crucial M550 256GB SSD

WD 2TB HDD

EVGA GeForce GTX 650

Edit: When I enter device manager the realtek Ethernet controller doesnt even show up so I can't mess with the power settings.

I got them from the MSI website from the page of the product itself so I doubt that.

Have you tried pulling out the CMOS battery? (The little flat battery on the motherboard.)

Will do that know, leave it out for how long and what to do if it doesnt work?

Just a couple minutes and if that doesn;t work then go into the BIOS and look for network settings.

already went to bios settings and disabled/re-enabled the controller and tried restoring defaults, neither of those options have worked.

Just removed the CMOS abttery and left it out for a bit but it still says it cannot find it.

Tried everything so far, even combining everything like the CMOS battery and the RAM removal at the same time and still nothing works. ANy other suggestions?

You might not have the Realtek on the mobo in the first place... Have you tried looking for other manufacturer's drivers on the driver page of your mobo?

 

EDIT:
I looked at the product page of your mobo... It should be there... Try this:

Go to Device Manager and look for devices with the tiny yellow question mark on the icon... Download all the drivers necessary until they disappear... You can do a quick google search using their Hardware Ids found under the Details tab of the device... Just be careful since there are a lot of poser websites that can package malware with the drivers...

You actually were right but NOTHING gave me reason to think that this was the case since the Official MSI website itself. You were right but I had no idea how to prove it. Apologies.
