I don't know how excited I am for another DOOM, I played the first one a lot as a kid but after I played Half-Life I never played the others. Figuring now DOOM can't really go backwards if they want to actually make sales it probably won't be like the first few and probably turn into a generic shooter. Especially with id tech missing most of it's original staff. I mean look at RAGE... Also Doom 3 BFG Edition. Not a good path they've been on. Wolfenstein The New Order was a good step for combat even though the story was really shallow but we'll see I guess.

@GingerbreadPK - I know what you mean, I was a bit sceptical especially after the departure of Carmack but the teaser trailer peaked my interest again and the limited descriptions of what they've shown at Quakecon sound quite promising to me, more of a throwback game with a bit of a modernisation. I love the DOOM setting, creatures and atmosphere so I'm quite amped to see what they've put together now. I was worried that they were just going to throw it on ID Tech 5 too (Wolfenstein style, even though that turned out to be a decent game) but apparently they've stuck true to tradition and put it out on Tech 6... just want to know what it looks like now!!! I mean how bad can it be when a daemon can rip your arms off and beat you to death with them ;)
