I like my 300R, I feel it's a good case for the price.I also don't really like the 230T aesthecially.

As for which is the better case, I don't know. I guess this depends on what you want from your case. The 300R is a tad smaller, yet has support for slightly taller CPU coolers. Overall they offer very similar features.

i vote for 300r. but both arent particularly good.

Can I ask what is it about the 230T you don't like?

I have a black graphite 230T and generally like it. Its a no frills compact case, but generally well designed and put together.

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x,  MOBO: ASUS TUF X570 Gaming Pro wifi, CPU cooler: Noctua U12a RAM: Gskill Ripjaws V @3600mhz,  GPU: Asus Tuf RTX OC 3080 PSU: Seasonic Focus GX850 CASE: Lian Li Lancool 2 Mesh Storage: 500 GB Inland Premium M.2,  Sandisk Ultra Plus II 256 GB & 120 GB

I ahve the 230T in orange. It is my first case for my first build and so far I am very pleased with it. It doesn't quite compare to enthusiast tier cases (no rubber grommets, only support for certain 120mm AIO rads, plastic hdd cage,...) but personally, the only case I would trade it in for (in the same price range) would be the 300R (altough I would miss the flashy orange).

Some differences between the 230T and 300R are:

  • 230T has 4 seperate 2.5" drive slots on top of the 4x 3.5" bays (300R has brackets that allow both 2.5" and 3.5" drives to be installed but only 4 in total; 230T a simple slide-in system)
  • 300R supports either 2x 120mm or 2x 140mm fans in the front (230T only 2x 120mm)
  • 300R supports up to 2x 140mm fans on the side panel (lacks the window; 230T supports 1x 120mm or 1x 140mm on the bottom)
  • 300R supports longer PSUs (up to 240mm), longer GPUs (up to 450mm) and higher CPU coolers (up to 170mm). 230T -> PSU (200mm), GPU (360mm), CPU cooler (165mm)
  • 230T comes with 2x LED fans in the front (color depending on case color) and 1x 120mm in the back; 300R comes with 1x 140mm in the front, 1x 120mm in the back
  • 300R also supports E-ATX MoBos
  • 300R is a bit smaller than the 230T (485mm x 210mm x 449mm vs 565mm x 270mm x 490mm)

I think those are the main differences.
