What would you want to use it for?

It's an engineering sample. Buy it if it's cheap nobody cares about them much.

I looking at buying a intel xeon e3 1230v2 but it has confidential on the plate and i'm wondering if i should go on with the purchase 

 

Go ahead. It's a Xeon. Cherry picked CPUs ftw

 

Also, those CPUs are amazing anyways if you're not overclocking. Basically a 4770 non-k without the graphics core for so much cheaper.
