Minecraft High RAM Usage

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

Here it is. As a side note: I had multi core-rendering enabled at the time when I took the screenshot of task manager. However, I usually have it set to smooth rendering, so that may be the case. Also, I noticed that the in-game memory usage is way off the usage in task manager.

Yup that's what I thought. It's just the windows 8 task manager that sucks. It also tells people that their CPU is at 6GHz and that they are running out of ram when there are 12GB left. Just ignore the task manager xD

I know Java is a memory whore, but this is fucking outlandish. here, (http://goo.gl/PYP3Qm) it shows that Minecraft is taking up 8 fucking gigabytes of ram (out of 16). That's just insane. I'm running on far render distance with a 128x128 texture pack, shaders mod, and some other mods but that doesn't really matter. Oh, ans I also have optifine. Why is this happening? My system specs are on my profile and I  have the latest Java and GPU drivers. Is there such a thing as RAM drivers?

Press F3 while in game and look at the top right corner of the debug screen. Then tell me what numbers you see.

Or just screenshot it and put it here...

Yeah you can do that too. I would this its easier to type out two numbers rather than going through the trouble of uploading an image...

Depends who you ask, I dislike typing most of the time.

Then why dont you just take a screen shot of each letter and paste them in a sentence? xD
